What should I do if my water heater is leaking from the top?
If water is leaking from the top, shut off power and water, then schedule service. For electric units, turn off the breaker. For gas, set the gas control to Off. Close the cold-water shutoff on the top pipe. Dry the area and avoid using hot water. Check flex supply lines, top fittings/nipples, and the T&P discharge connection for visible drips.
