Do Water Filtration Systems Require Regular Maintenance At Home?

Yes, home water filtration systems do require regular maintenance to keep water quality high and equipment working efficiently. Most often, salt‑based water softeners need annual service to stay efficient, while whole‑home filters and drinking‑water systems benefit from periodic checkups to protect plumbing and appliances. Our team also installs high‑efficiency options like the Novosoft 485HE; its precision brining reduces salt use, but the system still needs routine attention. We maintain systems across the Champaign area with licensed plumbers and local know‑how.

What a yearly softener visit typically includes:

• Check and refill salt as needed
• Inspect valves, hoses, and controls
• Clean or refresh the resin tank
• Verify backwash and regeneration settings

You can bundle routine visits through our Comfort Family membership, which includes scheduled plumbing maintenance.

If you notice sudden changes in taste, odor, or water pressure, schedule a professional check before issues spread to fixtures or appliances.
